Connect your current website

You already have a website. Good. You don't need to rebuild anything. Today you connect it to MyFormConnect, so every enquiry reaches your phone and spam is filtered out. It works on the free plan.

1. Create your account. Go to MyFormConnect signup, create your account, and add your website's domain.
2. Turn on email alerts, and make sure phone notifications are on for that email app. (Alerts in messaging apps are a paid extra. You don't need them for this course.)
3. Connect your site. Choose your platform below for step-by-step instructions. Usually, you either paste one line of code into your site's settings or point your existing form to MyFormConnect. The guides show exactly which.
4. Test it on your phone. Open your site on your phone, fill in your contact form as a customer would, and press Send. Check that the alert arrives.

Before you start (every platform)

Time: 5 minutes · You need: your MyFormConnect account, and the login for your website's editor

1. Log in to MyFormConnect.
2. Open Settings → Domains and add your website's domain (for example joesplumbing.com). Copy the domain ID shown next to it.
3. Create a form called "Contact" and copy its form ID.
4. Copy the form code below into a notes app. Replace YOUR_DOMAIN_ID, YOUR_FORM_ID, Your Business, and the reply time with your real ones.

Why it looks like this: four fields with phone optional, a clear button, a "what happens next" line, and fields your visitors' phones can fill in automatically. That's everything from day 9 of the course, built in. Change the button colour (#1f5f4a) to match your site if you like.

The plain version (for sites that don't allow scripts)

Some plans block scripts. If a guide says to use the plain version, delete the first line (the <script …> line) and change data-mfc="true" to nothing, so the form starts like this:

It still works: enquiries arrive, and MyFormConnect's server-side spam filtering still runs. The difference is that the extra spam check before sending doesn't run, and visitors see a thank-you page after sending instead of staying on your page. You can set your own thank-you page address in your MyFormConnect form settings.

Keep your old form until the new one works

In every guide, add the new form first, test it, and only then remove the old one. That way you never have a moment with no working form.
