Hour-meter is a number
A numeric hour-meter field sits in the header so maintenance can later sort submissions by wear, not only by calendar date.
Operators starting a shift enter equipment ID and hour-meter, then walk tires, forks, hydraulics, horn, lights, seatbelt, brakes, onboard extinguisher if required, and overhead guard. The signer is the operator about to drive, not a distant supervisor.
