Put your website online

"Hosting" just means a computer that shows your website to anyone who visits. We'll use Cloudflare Pages. It's free for a site like yours, and fast everywhere.

Put it online:

  1. Log in to Cloudflare and open Workers & Pages.
  2. Choose Create application, then Get started, then Drag and drop your files.
  3. Type a project name: your business name, no spaces.
  4. Drag your website folder into the box and choose Deploy site.
  5. Cloudflare gives you an address ending in .pages.dev. Open it on your phone. Your website is live.

Put it on your own name:

  1. In your project, open Custom domains and choose Set up a custom domain.
  2. Type your domain and confirm. Because you bought it through Cloudflare, it connects itself. This can take a few minutes, sometimes longer.

The most important step:

  1. Open your site on your phone at your own domain. Fill in the contact form as if you were a customer, and press Send.
  2. Check that the alert reaches your phone.

If the test doesn't arrive, use the Stuck box below and tell us what you see. We'll help.

You now have a real website that sends enquiries to your phone. Most businesses never get this far. Tomorrow: photos.

If you bought your domain elsewhere

Before "Set up a custom domain" connects automatically, finish the day 4 nameserver change so Cloudflare controls your DNS. If that step is still pending, wait until it completes (up to 24 hours), then return here and set up the custom domain.

Done when: your site opens on your phone at your own domain, and your test enquiry arrived.
